Class UML 2.4.1::DataType

Description:

A data type is a type whose instances are identified only by their value. A data type may contain attributes to support the modeling of structured data types.

Direct Superclasses: Classifier

Direct Subclasses: PrimitiveType, Enumeration

Class Precedence List: DataType, Classifier, Namespace, Type, PackageableElement, ParameterableElement, RedefinableElement, NamedElement, TemplateableElement, Element

Properties:

ownedAttribute : Property (0 *); -- source DataType
ownedOperation : Operation (0 *); -- source DataType
attribute : Property (0 *); -- source Classifier
collaborationUse : CollaborationUse (0 *); -- source Classifier
feature : Feature (0 *); -- source Classifier
general : Classifier (0 *); -- source Classifier
generalization : Generalization (0 *); -- source Classifier
inheritedMember : NamedElement (0 *); -- source Classifier
isAbstract : Boolean (1 1); -- source Classifier

If true, the Classifier does not provide a complete declaration and can typically not be instantiated. An abstract classifier is intended to be used by other classifiers e.g. as the target of general metarelationships or generalization relationships.
Default value: FALSE

isFinalSpecialization : Boolean (1 1); -- source Classifier
ownedTemplateSignature : RedefinableTemplateSignature (0 1); -- source Classifier
ownedUseCase : UseCase (0 *); -- source Classifier
powertypeExtent : GeneralizationSet (0 *); -- source Classifier
redefinedClassifier : Classifier (0 *); -- source Classifier
representation : CollaborationUse (0 1); -- source Classifier
substitution : Substitution (0 *); -- source Classifier
templateParameter : ClassifierTemplateParameter (0 1); -- source Classifier
useCase : UseCase (0 *); -- source Classifier
elementImport : ElementImport (0 *); -- source Namespace
importedMember : PackageableElement (0 *); -- source Namespace
member : NamedElement (0 *); -- source Namespace
ownedMember : NamedElement (0 *); -- source Namespace
ownedRule : Constraint (0 *); -- source Namespace
packageImport : PackageImport (0 *); -- source Namespace

References the PackageImports owned by the Namespace.
{composite}
Subsets: Element.ownedElement
Opposite: PackageImport.importingNamespace

package : Package (0 1); -- source Type

Specifies the owning package of this classifier, if any.
Opposite: Package.ownedType

visibility : VisibilityKind (1 1); -- source PackageableElement
owningTemplateParameter : TemplateParameter (0 1); -- source ParameterableElement
isLeaf : Boolean (1 1); -- source RedefinableElement

Indicates whether it is possible to further redefine a RedefinableElement. If the value is true, then it is not possible to further redefine the RedefinableElement. Note that this property is preserved through package merge operations; that is, the capability to redefine a RedefinableElement (i.e., isLeaf=false) must be preserved in the resulting RedefinableElement of a package merge operation where a RedefinableElement with isLeaf=false is merged with a matching RedefinableElement with isLeaf=true: the resulting RedefinableElement will have isLeaf=false. Default value is false.
Default value: FALSE

redefinedElement : RedefinableElement (0 *); -- source RedefinableElement
redefinitionContext : Classifier (0 *); -- source RedefinableElement
clientDependency : Dependency (0 *); -- source NamedElement
name : String (0 1); -- source NamedElement
nameExpression : StringExpression (0 1); -- source NamedElement
namespace : Namespace (0 1); -- source NamedElement
qualifiedName : String (0 1); -- source NamedElement
templateBinding : TemplateBinding (0 *); -- source TemplateableElement
ownedComment : Comment (0 *); -- source Element
ownedElement : Element (0 *); -- source Element
owner : Element (0 1); -- source Element

Constraints:

Signature: CMOF_14_3_28() : Boolean;
Description: 14.3 [28] A Property owned by a DataType can only be typed by a DataType.
Expression: ownedAttribute.type.oclIsKindOf(DataType)

Operations:

Signature: inherit(inhs : NamedElement; ) : NamedElement;
Description: The inherit operation is overridden to exclude redefined properties.
The OCL used here is not normative.
Editor's notes: reject not excluding. The operation Classifier.inhertedMember, redefined to eliminate non-progressing recursion, does not use inherit. Something similar should occur here. But I haven't written it yet. See Class.inherit, Classifier.inherit. Needs further study!
Expression: result = inhs->reject(inh | ownedMember->select(oclIsKindOf(RedefinableElement))->select(redefinedElement->includes(inh)))
Original: result = inhs->excluding(inh | ownedMember->select(oclIsKindOf(RedefinableElement))->select(redefinedElement->includes(inh)))
